Lions for sale on the Internet

Lions are doing a roaring trade, with baboons, giraffes, zebras and chimps also on sale on the Internet, a report said.

Among the animals for sale were chimpanzees dressed as dolls for 60,000 dollars , a "sweet-natured" giraffe in need of a loving, caring home (15,000 dollars), and a London gorilla needing a new home as its owner is relocating -- yours for 4,500 pounds (8,100 dollars).

A live, "hand-reared" two-year old Siberian tiger, came with a 70,000-dollar price tag.

i am not going to buy one because lions belong in the wild not in your back yard. they also don't belong in captivity. i don't think you should get a lion because they need 30-40lbs of meet a DAY.

I want o lion to love. A lion to sleep with and eat breakfast with. I want a lion to live with me and share my life. Unfortunately, when I tried to adopt an adorable little female from the pound that was found sprawled in some guy's front yard in Woodland Hills, CA, I found out that from kitten to adult, feeding costs average out to about $4000.00 a month (in 1979 dollars) and then they kill you. So I just settled for a girlfriend instead. There's a thin line between ultimate pussy and ultimate pussycat, but it's the difference between life and death.

I'm sad to see that you think it's OK for an untrained profesional to buy a lion, (or other wild animal) these are not cats and dogs they are WILD animals that I can guarantee you, you will not be able to train if your not a professional. If you are i'm sorry, but you of all people should know that buying a lion (or other wild animal)will only hurt them and their siblings in the long run. Wild animals belong in the wild or if in captivity with trained professionals.

A wild animal cannot be tamed. They can be EXTREMELY dangerous, and if it hurts someone, it pays with its life. A wild creature doesn't belong in a cage. It belongs in its natural habitat.
